ANZCO Foods CEO Update - October 2026

Posted on Wednesday, 14 October 2026 under Latest Edition, CEO Updates,

On 1 October we officially welcomed the Greenlea Group into ANZCO Foods. I've taken on the role of Managing Director of the business and have been enjoying spending a couple of days a week in Hamilton learning more about the business and supporting the team.

Greenlea is a well-run and efficient operation and there are things we can learn from them, and there are things they can learn from ANZCO, particularly around our value-add capabilities.

Greenlea's Hamilton and Morrinsville processing sites complement our existing operations and together we're a larger, more resilient business with a stronger presence across New Zealand. We'll keep you updated as we bring the two businesses together.

The possibility of a particularly strong El Niño weather pattern continues to attract attention. El Niño conditions can bring drier weather to eastern parts of the country, including Canterbury, Marlborough, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa, while western and southern regions may experience more wind and rain. The impact can vary considerably between regions, with potential implications for pasture growth, feed availability and livestock finishing.

It's difficult to predict exactly how the season will unfold, so our best advice is to stay in regular contact with your livestock rep about your processing requirements, particularly if changing conditions are likely to affect your plans.

Spring is always a busy time on farm and I hope the season is going well for you. Whatever the weather brings in the coming months, we look forward to working closely with you.
