Welcome to the first week of Climate Change and Sustainability focus month.

This week we’re focusing on being sustainable and reducing our impact on the environment.

Sustainable selfie series – snap a pic and win!

We’re launching the first competition of Climate Change and Sustainability month.

Simply snap a selfie of you and your whānau or mates doing something sustainable, send it to sustainability@anzcofoods.com and you could win!

Your photo can capture any sustainable action, big or small. Here are some ideas to inspire you:

• Using a reusable cup
• Carpooling
• Putting your groceries in a reuseable supermarket bag
• Walk, cycle, or taking the bus to work, the supermarket, or somewhere else
• Buying locally produced food
• Eating leftovers
• Avoiding packaging
• Using an electric lawnmower
• Recycling clothes or op-shopping

Everyone who sends in a selfie is in to win, and at the end of the week we’ll randomly draw three winners:

• First place – Fab Slabs wooden serving board, and beeswax to keep it in good condition
• Second place – set of 100% organic cotton produce bags, keep cup, reusable tote bag, and beeswax wraps
• Third place – stainless steel pegs, keep cup, reusable tote bag, and voucher for a packet of Angel Bay

Be a tidy kiwi – recycling properly

Recycling helps save money and reduce your impact on our environment:

• Remember to rinse clean all plastic, glass and metal containers to ensure they are processed for recycling - leftovers and oily residues cause problems for recyclers.
• If you use recyclable items while you’re out and about, bring them home with you to be sorted properly or put them in public recycling bins, rather than throwing them in rubbish bins.
• If everything doesn't fit in your recycling bin when collections resume, store it until the next collection instead of putting it in the rubbish bin.
