ANZCO Foods CEO Update - March 2026

Posted on Friday, 13 March 2026 under Latest Edition, CEO Updates,

You will have seen reports that some of New Zealand’s exports have been affected by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. At this stage, the impact on ANZCO is limited to exports destined for customers in the region, which account for around 1% of our total sales. Those products are currently being redirected to alternative markets. Exports to other countries continue to move through different shipping channels as normal. GM Sales and Marketing Rick Walker provides further detail in his March 2026 market update. We are also mindful that some of you may have family or friends in the region and hope they are safe.

Last weekend I took part in the ANZCO Foods IRONMAN in Taupō alongside 22 ANZCO employees and 10 farmer-suppliers wearing the ANZCO kit. Taupō turned on ideal weather conditions, and it was a real highlight getting to know the team better and watching the mix of exhilaration and relief as people crossed the finish line. An achievement like that represents months of training and commitment, so it is great to see so many people getting involved. Applications for the 2027 crew will open in a few months, so keep an eye out if you would like the chance to train with us and take on the challenge as part of a very supportive group.

We were also Principal Partner of the Shepherdess Muster in Tokanui last weekend. By all accounts it was a hugely successful event, bringing women off-farm for a weekend focused on self-care, workshops, connection, and great food. Women play a significant role in their farming communities, yet they often struggle to take time away from the farm. Supporting initiatives like this, alongside the women’s conferences we run every second year, is one way we can recognise and give back to an important part of the rural sector.

Together, these initiatives reflect the importance of staying connected with the people who make up our farming and rural communities. Thank you for the ongoing work you do on farm and for the continued partnership with ANZCO.
