It's January and there's lots of delicious summer crops ready to harvest in the vege patch and the fruit garden.
It's a great time to plant:
- Herbs like basil, coriander, and parsley
- Root vegetables like parsnip, carrot, beetroot, kumara, and radish
- Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries
- Green leafy vegetables like mesclun and lettuce
- Spring onions
- Beans
- Tomatoes
- Sweetcorn
- Pumpkin
- Passionfruit
- Eggplant
- Courgette

Here's a quick tip:
For the best tomatoes, leave the fruit to ripen on the plant. Birds enjoy tomatoes too so you may need to install bird netting to protect the ripening tomatoes.
