Getting Match Fit – January health and safety focus

January’s health and safety focus is about ‘getting match fit’ – refreshing you on best practice to help you keep safe.

It can take time to get used to work again after the Christmas and New Year break. Take it slow, and get used to working again.

If you need, take micro-breaks throughout the day – a pause to help you reset and refocus. Micro-breaks help with mental wellbeing by offering moments of relaxation, reset focus, and in the long term helps to prevent burnout.

Every half hour, take 20-30 seconds and:

  • Stretch your neck, wrists, and arms

  • If you’ve been sitting for a while, stand up and stretch

  • Depending on your task, you may be able to briefly pause and look away from your work station
