Exercise | June health and safety focus
Posted on Monday, 23 June 2025 under Health & Safety,
Managing your energy levels is an important part of your health and safety at work and your personal wellbeing. Stress levels, sleep habits, diet, and exercise can have impacts on your ability to work and if they are not looked after can lead to exhaustion and burnout.
Rotating through different tasks helps to prevent physical strains by not aggravating the same area over and over again. If you’re feeling pain anywhere, it’s a good idea to recognise this early and let your supervisor or manager know.
Getting your body moving helps to reduce stress and improve your overall wellbeing. Exercise doesn’t have to be on a treadmill or at a gym; it could be as simple as a short walk before or after work. Movement – including stretching – helps promote blood flow to muscles and is essential to prevent sprains and strains.
Here's some safety conversation starters you can use with your colleagues:
-
What do you do to wind down after a busy day at work?
-
What’s your favourite way to move or stay active?
