Waitara beach clean up

The ANZCO Foods Waitara’s Gourmet Foods team volunteered to clean up the local beach with Sustainable Taranaki recently.

Throughout the day, they collected 650 litres of rubbish including:

• 120L of plastic (1, 2 & 5), cans, and cardboard
• 60L of glass
• 50L of compost

The glass, plastic, cans, and cardboard can be recycled, and the compost can be used elsewhere, meaning 35% of the collected rubbish was diverted from potentially ending up in landfill – a fantastic outcome. Thanks to the teams for their hard work.
