Nick Tipling gets first place

Congratulations to Rangitikei Livestock Representative Nick Tipling, who came first overall in the Taupo 100km solo ultramarathon last weekend. This also netted him a first in the Male Open category.

He finished in 8 hours and 17 minutes, 16 minutes ahead of the second place-getter. He says it was a good battle up-front for most of the race, but he managed to come away with the win. The race has 1,853m of elevation gain, run along part of the Great Lake trails, and included unpaved trails, 4WD or farm trails, and gravel or sealed road.
