Meet Mosio (Sio) Penjueli

Carton Handler at Ashcold

Sio is a carton handler at the Ashcold coldstore in Ashburton. He loads cartons onto trucks, and also checks to make sure that each container being loaded stays at -20 degrees - which is important to keep product frozen. He also helps with health and safety checks, and sometimes does the final count of cartons and seals up the container before it gets transported.

He's been with ANZCO Foods for five years, but before coming here he worked with his dad at Waterforce, an irrigation company, as a summer job.

Since coming to ANZCO he's been surprised at how physical the job is. He found it hard work at first - cartons can weigh between 25 and 30 kg - but he's gotten used to it and now enjoys it.

Outside of work, Sio enjoys archery. He's taught himself through YouTube and a lot of practice, and he has a target board in his backyard. He also enjoys watching movies, and if the team finishes loading containers early he sometimes drives to Christchurch to catch the latest movies in cinemas. He enjoys any action movie but especially enjoys Marvel films.

After a busy day, he might go out for a walk, or head home to wind down with a good movie.
