Perrine Vasseur
Operations and Pastoral Care Administrator at Waitara
Perrine has been at ANZCO Foods Waitara since July 2025 as the site's Operations and Pastoral Care Administrator. It’s a hybrid role - half her time is spent supporting day-to-day operations and the site leadership team, and the other half providing pastoral care to employees, particularly offshore workers.
Her background is in recruitment, and she understands how important it is to find a job you enjoy - she didn’t want to do something she didn’t like. When her current position came up, it ticked all the right boxes. There’s plenty of administration and coordination, but more importantly, lots of interaction with people - and she particularly enjoys the human side of her role.
Originally from the north of France, Perrine is a permanent resident of New Zealand, so she's been through the immigration process and learned how to live in a new country. Because of this, she's well placed to support our offshore workers during their stay in New Zealand. She helps them settle into shared accommodation when they first arrive and, if they choose to move out, supports them with everything they need to know about renting a house. If she doesn’t know the answer to a question, she’s happy to research it and help find a solution. She says it's like having lots of kids!
She first travelled to New Plymouth around eight years ago for a friend's wedding, and stayed on to travel and do random jobs of a year-long working holiday visa. After that visa ended, she travelled through Australia and South East Asia before coming back to New Zealand to begin the process of becoming a permanent resident.
Since joining ANZCO, she's been surprised at how kind, patient, and supportive people are across all departments. From her first day, she's noticed how everyone's always smiling. It makes her want to come to work knowing people will always be welcoming and positive.
After a busy day Perrine enjoys going for a walk and trying to get her steps in! She also loves spending time with her son, Emile, catching up with friends, and enjoying good food. She's keen on French food - while New Plymouth isn't great for French cuisine, she's discovered a bakery in town that does the best pain au chocolat!
