Meet Anthony Pinder

Coldstore Trainer at Waitara

Nearly five years ago, Anthony joined the ANZCO Waitara team. Today, he’s the site’s Coldstore Trainer. He helps employees with forklift and construction training, and also assesses and signs off training.

Before beginning his current role, Anthony worked on the afternoon shift in Gourmet Foods. He's also Secretary for the Meat Workers Union at Waitara. One of the biggest surprises for him has been seeing how diverse ANZCO has become in the time he’s been here. Before joining ANZCO, Anthony spent six years at Silver Fern Farms Pareora, starting as a labourer before moving into a meat inspector role.

Outside of work, Anthony is a keen musician who plays guitar and drums, and when he has the chance, he jumps onto his PS5 and streams on Twitch under his channel gamingfourfunz. After a big day, his favourite way to unwind is sitting in the sun with a coffee and guitar in hand.

Anthony has a great claim to fame - his cousin, Mike Pinder, was a member of the legendary band Moody Blues, best known for classics like Nights in White Satin.

At home, Anthony and his partner of nearly 30 years share a blended family of five children - three daughters and two sons - along with five grandchildren, with the youngest one arriving in June this year.
