Meet Andrea Kinley
Registered Nurse at Canterbury
Andrea has been the Registered Nurse for ANZCO Foods Canterbury, Rakaia, and Ashcold for two and a half years. She's not new to working at ANZCO, however, as she visited our sites as a contractor for a couple of years, and she also had a bit to do with the Canterbury site in the CMP days while she was working in general practice.
Until recently she was the only nurse for Canterbury, Rakaia, and Ashcold, so she's been kept busy taking care of all things health and wellbeing on-site - but she now has an Occupational Health Coordinator on her team so she's not on her own! She takes drop-ins for injuries and illnesses, and is the first port of call if the site's first aiders need extra assistance. She conducts pre-employment health checks, drug testing, hearing checks, sugar level and blood pressure checks and other monitoring to help employees stay on top of their health. She's also in charge of organising first aid training, physio check-ups, and if she has time, she'll help out with wellbeing focuses.
Since joining the ANZCO team, she's been amazed at the number of people who've worked here for a long time - she reckons it means it's a good place to work!
Outside work, she loves going to live concerts, and enjoys travelling - last year she went to Asia for the first time. She's also a bit of a social butterfly, and often invites friends over or visits her friends for dinner on weekends - she loves catching up with people. After a busy day she'll often unwind by listening to music, but recently her time has been taken up by knitting clothes for her new grandson who was born in October.
