Meet Aimee Gommans

Healthcare Quality Manager at Canterbury

Aimee is ANZCO’s Healthcare Quality Manager. She’s based at our Canterbury site, but also works with the Kōkiri, Eltham, and Marlborough teams to manage the quality of biotissues produced across these sites. In her role, she oversees the quality of biotissues used in medical devices, works closely with customers to meet their requirements, and stays up to date with regulatory standards and any new medical device requirements.

She’s been with ANZCO Foods for nearly ten years. After returning from her OE to Canada, she started as Product Development Technologist in the Biotissues team before transitioning into her current role as ANZCO’s Healthcare division expanded. Aimee has a Master of Science in biochemistry, with her research focusing on protein structure and identifying targets for new cancer and Alzheimer’s drugs. Since joining ANZCO, she’s been surprised at how quickly things move. She’s found people are enthusiastic about the healthcare space, always interested in new ideas and products, and help make things happen efficiently.

Outside work, Aimee enjoys painting – especially landscapes – as well as pilates, baking, and hiking (she’s completed most of the Great Walks!). After a busy day, she heads home to cook dinner and relax with a glass of wine. She lives with her partner Simon, their dog - a German Shorthaired Pointer and Labrador cross - and their cat.
