Manawatū team visit Tasman Tanning

A group of employees from ANZCO Foods Manawatū, comprising Operations Manager Bevan Graham, supervisors, and leggers, visited Tasman Tanning during the first week of the site’s annual shutdown.
The visit gave the team a better understanding of how knife and flay cuts during the hide opening process, particularly at the legging stand and hide puller, can damage hides and reduce their value. By understanding the impact of these cuts, the team can identify ways to minimise damage and improve hide yields.
The team also gained insight into the leather-making process and saw how Tasman Tanning turns hides supplied by ANZCO Foods into high-quality upholstery and boot leather.
