Five Star Beef
Posted on Tuesday, 18 November 2025 under Latest,
This week we received the news that Five Star Beef’s restricted place notice – put in place as part of the country’s Mycoplasma bovis eradication programme – has now been lifted.
This means cattle no longer need to be tested before coming to the feedlot.
Five Star Beef was depopulated at the end of 2022 as part of the eradication programme, and the testing programme has been in place since repopulation in March 2023.
Thank you to all the ANZCO people involved in managing our response to the restricted place notice. The testing programme had a significant impact, adding complexity to suppliers’ businesses and to ours.
Since we started operating more than 30 years ago, Five Star Beef has developed strong relationships with employees, farmer-suppliers, and customers, and these strong foundations helped us navigate the past three years.
