Canterbury site visit

A food safety delegation from China visited ANZCO Foods Canterbury on behalf of the China Meat Association recently, accompanied by officials from Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) and Meat Industry Association (MIA). The visit focused on learning more about New Zealand’s animal health and disease prevention, livestock welfare, and regulatory compliance in meat production.

The visit was hosted on behalf of the China Meat Association. The delegation was from animal disease control and slaughter technology centres within the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA), the agency responsible for meat standards in China. MPI and MIA work closely with MARA on the Meat Hygiene Cooperation Programme.
