ANZCO's Local Heroes: Ian Clough

Posted on Thursday, 14 August 2025

We're recognising ‘ANZCO's local heroes’ - people who volunteer their time to make an impact in their community. We're chatting to them about what they do, what they've learned, and their advice for anyone who wants to get involved in their community.

Today, meet Ian Clough

Coldstore Supervisor at ANZCO Foods Canterbury

Ian spends his time outside of work as a leader and administrator of the local Cubs group, where children from the ages of 8-11 are introduced to new skills and begin to connect with their community before they move into the Scouts programme. He's also passionate about football and has been a long-time referee and coach.

He first got involved because his mother was a Cub leader, and he went through the Scout programme when he was younger. When his own children started Cubs he joined as a leader, and has been involved ever since.

He enjoys watching children grow into adults and having a part in their journey - he's had too many highlights to mention from his time as a volunteer!

Ian's advice for anyone looking to make an impact in their community is to just give it a go - it's great fun. If you're keen to get involved in Scouts, you can contact your local Scout group or drop Ian a line!

If you know a local hero that deserves to be recognised, email Ashley.Abrahams@anzcofoods.com
