ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice

Congratulations to Alex Pellow of New World Mangawhai, Northland, who has been named ANZCO Foods Butcher Apprentice 2025. 

This was Alex’s second appearance in the grand final, after placing runner-up last year, and he describes his win as “surreal”, crediting the strong support he’s received along the way. Alex has won a trip to the next World Butcher Challenge and an opportunity to represent New Zealand in the ANZCO Foods Young Butcher team.

Previous Butcher Apprentice winner Anton Rameka, who represented NZ at the World Butcher Challenge in Paris earlier this year, claimed the Pact Packaging Young Butcher 2025 title. Anton has also won a trip to the next World Butcher Challenge.
