$75k donated to causes chosen by farmers

Farmers who joined us at our Meat, Greet, and Eat events earlier this year had the opportunity to help decide where ANZCO Foods’ community funding would make a difference in their region.

We’re pleased to share that, based on your nominations and votes, a total of $75,000 has now been donated to 21 community organisations, charities, schools, emergency services and other local causes across the country.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate or vote for an organisation. It was great to be able to put the decision in the hands of our farmer suppliers to support causes that are important to the communities in which you live and work.

Feedback 

We’ve also received some fantastic feedback from the recipient organisations about what the funding means to them and how it will be used in their communities.

Geraldine Kindergarten said it was “absolutely thrilled” to receive $5,000 towards its new purpose-built kindergarten and was humbled that the local farming community had chosen to support a project benefiting local children and whānau.

Geraldine High School was equally appreciative of the $5,000 awarded to its Primary Industry Academy (PIA). Principal Marcus Cooper said knowing local farmers valued and supported the programme had given staff and students a tremendous boost. The funding will help provide resources, practical field trips and hands-on agricultural training for students preparing for future careers in New Zealand’s agricultural sector.

Bulls Rugby and Sports Club extremely grateful for its donation, while Grassroots Rescue Helicopter Trust described the news as absolutely amazing and thanked ANZCO Foods and the farmers who chose to support the Trust. The Trust said contributions like these make a real difference and help ensure it can continue providing its vital service to communities.
