Welcoming Greenlea to ANZCO Foods

Posted on Friday, 2 October 2026

A big welcome to the Greenlea group, which officially joined ANZCO Foods yesterday.

To mark this important milestone for both companies, representatives from ANZCO Foods and our shareholder, Itoham Yonekyu, joined me in Hamilton yesterday for a morning tea with the Greenlea team, as well as a dinner last night with the management team. At the dinner, it was my pleasure to present Tony Egan with a pounamu mere to acknowledge his significant contribution to Greenlea’s success.

Greenlea is a well-established New Zealand business with a successful history, and we are thrilled to have it as part of the wider group.

The purchase brings together two established New Zealand red meat businesses with highly complementary strengths – North and South Island operations, shared values, and a strong commitment to staff, farmers, customers and communities.

Together, we are a larger, more resilient and more diversified red meat business. There is strong strategic and operational alignment between ANZCO Foods and the Greenlea Group, with complementary products, export markets and operating footprints across New Zealand.

There is plenty for us to learn from each other and I’m looking forward to seeing the opportunities that come from bringing our two businesses together.

We’ll keep you up to date as this exciting new chapter progresses.
