Real Life Restaurant by Angel Bay

Inspired by the way Kiwis really cook and eat at home, Angel Bay transformed a suburban Auckland home into the ‘Real Life Restaurant’, a pop-up bistro using things many people have in their fridge or freezer.
The Angel Bay team commissioned research into how Kiwis eat and found the most common ingredients in New Zealanders’ fridges, freezers, and pantries.
They partnered with home cook Jana MacPherson to create five dishes using these common ingredients and Angel Bay products, which were then served to guests across six nights.
The restaurant received more than 180 booking requests and was featured on Neat Places, The Urban List, RNZ, and more.
The five restaurant recipes are also now available online for anyone to try.
