Meet Liam Rance

Process Worker at Green Island

Liam works in the processing room at Green Island, making Angel Bay patties. His role involves decartoning meat, measuring ingredients, mixing everything together, and preparing the mixture to be formed into patties. He’s also worked in the packing room, in stillage putting MAFS seals on cartons, and on onions  so he’s a bit of a jack of all trades and can help out wherever he’s needed.

He says his work can involve a lot of heavy lifting, but he’s enjoyed getting back into it after breaking his arm last year. He was playing rugby and snapped his radius and ulna, so it took quite a while to recover, along with a lot of physio. He’s grateful to have full use of his arm again and to be back at work.

Outside of work, Liam enjoys rugby and cruising in his Mazda — although his dream car is a decent Toyota or a Nissan 180SX. He’s also partial to a drink and enjoys a good beer, vodka, or a glass of whiskey made by his workmate.

After a busy day, Liam unwinds by playing a game or two with his friends — usually Counter-Strike or PGA Tour on the PlayStation.
