Meet Josh Mockford

Production Worker at Green Island

Josh works part-time in the processing room at ANZCO Foods Green Island, where he helps keep production moving by supplying ingredients to the former for mixing and making patties. The bins he moves weigh around 150kg on average, although some ingredients like breadcrumbs are much lighter while meat bins can be heavier. After the weekend, the job can be a bit tougher, as the bins are washed on Fridays and the wheels can tighten up. Josh is more than happy to lend a hand though, knowing that keeping ingredients supplied means the rest of the team can focus on their tasks.

He's been with ANZCO for nearly four and a half years. He has always worked part-time, starting out in the packing room before moving into the processing room last year. One of the things he's been surprised by is seeing how the patties are made and frozen - it's interesting to see how much technology is involved in the process. Before joining ANZCO, Josh worked at a coffee roastery, a pharmacy in Mornington, and The Food Room café in Green Island.

He enjoys the freedom that working part-time gives him. You'll often find him watching the NBA - he loves basketball, and, standing at 6'4", is well suited to the sport. Josh is a big off-roading fan and enjoys taking his truck out when he can. He's also a self-confessed car person, and owns a 2004 Toyota Hilux - his dream truck - and a Toyota Mark X, which he recently upgraded with new tyres and a body kit, and which he often takes to car meets. His dream car is a Toyota Chaser or a Nissan Skyline.

When he's not watching NBA or off-roading, Josh spends time with his dog, a one-year-old purebred rottweiler. These days the dog is well trained, but when Josh lived closer to the site, it occasionally escaped and followed him to work!
