Meet Jack Tran

Maintenance Engineer at Marlborough

Jack is a Maintenance Engineer at ANZCO Foods Marlborough.

He was working at a beef processor in Vietnam, his home country, when he heard some of the ANZCO team were in Vietnam interviewing candidates. He interviewed and, when an opening came up in Marlborough, he took the job and made the move.

He arrived in spring last year, which meant the weather was a bit colder than what he was used to back home. He’s also been pleasantly surprised to find that everyone on-site is friendly, supportive, and helpful. Eventually, he hopes to bring his wife and 12-year-old daughter to New Zealand.

In his role as a maintenance engineer, Jack keeps busy fixing and repairing equipment and dealing with unexpected issues in production. He also helps install machines around site, with recent projects including hydraulics for rise-and-fall platforms and the intervention system.

Outside of work, he enjoys sightseeing around the Marlborough region, but his main focus at the moment is studying English, which will help him work towards gaining residency.
