Meet Esther Gorton

Environmental Business Partner / Farms Manager at Corporate Office

Esther has been with ANZCO for three years and has two distinct parts to her role – Environmental Business Partner and Farms Manager.

In her role as Environmental Business Partner, no two days are quite the same. Esther provides strategic and practical support to ANZCO sites to manage environmental risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve environmental outcomes. Her work includes consent reporting, investigating challenges, meeting with regional councils, and planning the next stages of consenting.

Then, in her role as Farms Manager, she works with the ANZCO farm team to make sure day-to-day operations run smoothly. This involves managing their cut and carry operation efficiently with a balance of nutrient removal and a great end product.

One thing that surprised Esther after joining ANZCO was the number of different functions within the business and how much goes on behind the scenes.

Outside work, she can often be found in her garden, reading, catching up with friends, or spending time on-farm. She and her partner also have a rescue cat called Freddy, who is very spoilt.

After a busy day, Esther's favourite way to unwind is going for a walk or having a glass of wine, depending on the day! She's also a self-confessed espresso martini connoisseur and is always happy to put one to the taste test.
