Meet the Team - Darryl Katene

Darryl is a process worker at ANZCO Foods Eltham. He works in the boning room, where he helps process carcasses. He mainly works on forequarter cuts, but the team often changes things up and works on other cuts as needed.

He’s previously worked at other processing factories, including a cheese factory and a fertiliser plant. He’s been at ANZCO for more than ten years now and has always worked in the boning room.

He enjoys working at ANZCO because of the decent hours and good people. He also knows most people around site, and his old man works on the slaughter floor.

Outside work, Darryl enjoys fishing and diving. He often dives for crayfish and kina in Ōpunake, but he’s happy to go anywhere for a spot of fishing.

After a busy day, Darryl sits down on the couch, kicks his socks off, and plays games or watches a bit of TV – he particularly enjoys CboysTV on YouTube. His claim to fame is winning a pig hunting competition when he was younger and coming away with a good amount of prize money!
