Meet Dae Oh
Key Person at Rangitīkei
Dae is a Key Person (KP) and packer at ANZCO Foods Rangitīkei. As a KP, she organises what the room needs for the day and helps communicate order specifications to packers. In her role as a packer, she puts lamb cuts into cartons according to customer orders.
Dae is from Korea, where she worked as a manager. She caught the travel bug and enjoyed visiting different countries whenever she could. Over time, she realised that travelling only gives a surface-level view of different cultures. Wanting a deeper experience, she decided to move overseas. When she visited New Zealand, she fell in love with the peacefulness, the calm and easygoing people, and the stunning scenery, and decided to make the move. She says that in the past she mostly visited cities and didn’t pay much attention to nature, but living in New Zealand has changed that, and it’s now one of her favourite parts of being here. She moved to New Zealand six years ago and has been at ANZCO since then, stepping into her KP role three years ago.
Since starting at ANZCO, she’s been surprised by the opportunities to develop and progress within the company, and has been motivated by the chance to grow both professionally and personally.
Outside work, Dae enjoys running. When she can, she runs along the Manawatū River, and she also trains at the gym. She enjoys making and eating food - and is glad there are some good Korean restaurants in Palmerston North. After a busy day, she’ll cook dinner, preferably something spicy, and spend time stretching.
