Finding a new use for our lamb skins

GM Operations Darryl Tones, Co-Products Manager Geoff Murdoch, and Infrastructure and Assets Manager John Corcoran recently travelled to China where they saw first-hand how some of our lowest-graded lamb skins are being given a new purpose.
They visited a rural village where small businesses use the skins to manufacture clothing.
Previously, these lower-grade skins had no viable end use and were discarded, so it is great to see them being turned into useful products. Thanks to Marshal, our agent in China, who facilitates the sale of the skins.
The businesses they visited employ up to 10 people each, providing valuable employment within their local communities while producing warm clothing for winter, when temperatures can fall as low as -20°C.
