Canterbury shutdown update

Posted on Friday, 24 July 2026 under Latest,

Processing at ANZCO Foods Canterbury site started again last week following the successful completion of a two‑week maintenance shutdown programme.

Site Manager Shane Kidd was delighted with the outcome, with all shutdown goals achieved on schedule and no injuries recorded.

The site held a barbeque lunch to thank everyone who contributed to the maintenance and project work. The event was an opportunity to recognise the teamwork, dedication, and collaboration that ensured this year’s shutdown was delivered safely and successfully.

Shane reiterated the importance of the annual shutdown and expressed his appreciation to all involved.

The event was well attended, with Ashburton Mayor Liz McMillan joining more than 300 contractors and staff. The laughter and conversations around the pallet tables reflected the strong sense of camaraderie that continues to be a hallmark of Canterbury’s shutdown culture.
