Canterbury shutdown

Posted on Friday, 26 June 2026

ANZCO Foods Canterbury held its annual contractors’ pre-shutdown induction meeting on Thursday 18 June ahead of this year’s two-week maintenance shutdown programme, which started this week.

As always, safety is ANZCO Foods’ top priority, with no job being so urgent that it can’t be done safely. All aspects of the maintenance programme were covered, and key safety principles and expectations were outlined. The meeting also covered expectations around SiteWise inductions and the Permit to Work process, which ensures risks are identified, controlled, and authorised before work begins.

Engineering Manager Jacques Vosloo was pleased with the excellent turnout, with 54 contractor principals attending, and says the engagement and commitment to safe, high-quality work sets the foundation for another successful maintenance shutdown.
